This pattern is fully illustrated with detailed step-by-step instructions. No prior knowledge of any of the stitches used is necessary. Note, my instructions for the herringbone "turn" are a bit different from the more traditional method where the thread shows on the outer edge. The method I was taught and use in these instructions gives you a nice clean outer edge without the thread showing and without having to worry so much about maintaining consistent tension. However, I include instructions for both techniques.
