Australian Butterfly Papilio Ulysses got its name after a Greek hero Ulysses/Odysseus who had such an epic journey home after engaging in the siege of Troy.
The butterfly is also known as Blue Mountain Butterfly, or the Blue Mountain Swallowtail. It lives in tropical rainforest areas and suburban gardens. The upperside of the wings is iridescent metallic blue. The span of the wings is about 14 cm.
This beaded butterfly is woven of 12 colours. The pattern includes a photo of the finished butterfly, a palette of needed toho beads and 7 graphs, from picking the first beads up to the finished piece with showing the way of the thread in each graph. The colours in each bead are numbered for easier work. Such butterfly can be used as a brooch, a hair slide, a central part of a necklace or simply as a nice souvenir.
