The simplest version of the Ecuadorian "Hojas" ("Leaves") collar. This pattern follows the design and construction techniques that I learned from the women of Saraguro, Ecuador. This collar is interesting for the way it requires a gentle, relaxed tension to achieve the proper drape, so it's a good project for practicing your tension control. A calm, Zen attitude is helpful for the first two rows - but after that, it's cake!
Not just a pattern graph, also included are text instructions, detail illustrations, a photo, and a blank graph so you can design your own color combinations.
Half of my earnings from sales of this pattern will be shared amongst the women's beading cooperatives of Saraguro.
