For learning we suggest basics for your first projects and they do not necessarily need to be finished items. Starting with a SAMPLER or 'test' project is a good idea. Relaxation is our goal, no stress. Start small, gather supplies; fabric, needle, floss, hoop, scissor, good light and a comfortable chair or work area. Once learning the stitch is conquered you can tackle larger projects with less frustration. If you are like many of us, you want to create an item you JUST HAVE TO HAVE, but please try to starting with something small to find out if you LIKE Cross Stitch before getting in over your head. This little hobby can be very addicting! 1. We have some FREE (if you print yourself) charts available. Starting with a pattern with only 'Whole Stitches' is another good idea when learning. Some Basics: Thread A Needle The Easy Way! Basic Cross Stitch Instructions from Cari Buziak Conversion Calculator 2. We have more information, which we have gathered from around the web and organized for your convenience, on our LINKS page. CrossStitch.About.com also has gathered some great LEARNING information. 3. Enjoy and HAVE FUN!!
