Pat became infected with the beading bug in 1993 after seeing some large rice pearls at the and decided: How hard could this be to make a pearl necklace out of this? Necklaces are like potato chips: you can't make just one. Pat wears all of the creations that she beads up and strives to make all of her patterns capable of being made up into imminently wearable creations. She designs highly pictoral subjects. Maybe being a scientist ( a chemist) in her day job has made her so left-brained that the abstract is a stretch for her. Pat's style is a realistic treatment of subjects with yet an increase in contrast and decrease in the number of colors that renders a crisp image in beadwork. Pat's subjects include among other things Renaisance Maddonas, purebred cats and dogs, birds (especially cardinals), Tarot cards, goddesses, and Celtic knot based subjects.
