I started beading when I was at school. My first teacher was my Mum (and later she became my first bead pupil). Having taught me all she knew, she brought me to beading courses and that was the place where I opened the horizons which were unimagined for me before. My favourite stitch very soon became loom and I started looming pictures. I also enjoyed peyote.
The main thing for me was to invent something myself as I found it terribly boring to remake other people's patterns (that is why I almost did no finished pieces while was learning).
Of about ten years ago I went to the sea with my daughter and one evening, sitting idly in the kitchen, I thought of making a peyote stitch butterfly. As usual, I had some beads with me, so I draw a pattern and started weaving. By the next morning my first butterfly was ready. I enjoyed the process so much that since then have made over a hundred butterflies of more than sixty different species both in peyote stitch and loom.
Of about three years ago my elder daughter and I were advised to try making 3-D toys, and it has also become our loved pastime.
My favourite ornaments (when I do not weave butterflies) are traditional ornaments of different cultures, esprcially Russian and Celtic.

Bead Crochet Designers
Bead Crochet Designers LLC is the collaboration of Computer Software design with Bead Crochet design.

Ken Campbell has been programing for over 40 years and learned how to bead crochet to better understand how the craft really worked. Motorcycles are just one of his many interests and his leather jacket is adorned with many flag ropes of his own design.

Judith Bertoglio-Giffin has been beading, teaching, designing, and publishing beadwork for better than 20 years. Her two Bead Crochet Books are recognized worldwide as standards for the craft. She has many individual patterns on Bead Patterns.

Reckless Beading AKA Adele Rogers Recklies
Before moving to New York City to work as a costume maker for professional theater, I earned a B.A. and M.A. from Kent State University and a Ph.D. in theater from The Ohio State University. By day (and many nights) I knit, crochet, or embroider costumes for films, theater, opera, and dance. Some of my work has been seen in films such as "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Memoirs of a Geisha" and Broadway shows such as "CATS".

Making gorgeous beaded costumes led me to beadwork jewelry. My beadwork has been seen in "500 Beaded Objects", "Bead International 2006", and exhibits in New York and Japan.

When I am not knitting for a production, I play with beads, fiber, knitting, crochet--whatever piques my interest. My trip to Istanbul, Turkey to speak at the International Bead and Beadwork Conference in 2007 intensified an interest in Turkish beads and textiles. I am still designing bead crochet patterns and plan to explore combining fiber and beadwork in jewelry.

Megan's Beaded Designs
Hi everyone! My name's Megan, and it's good to meet you all! I have been beading since I can remember. I even sold beaded necklaces and earrings at yard sells and barter fairs when I was less than 8 years old! I think that beading is a great past-time and hobby to get into. Whenever I'm on a lunch break at work, have some spare time at home, or even a few extra minutes in-between activities: you can find me beading. Usually I make up my designs as I go, so the ending result is always a surprise! I'm excited that I've been given this opportunity to share my "discovered" designs with all of you here at Bead-Patterns.com!

I'm a recent graduate from Whitworth University. I have a Bachelor's degree in Art with an emphasis on graphic design. When I'm not busy beading I'm either painting, drawing, or creating digital artwork on the computer. I work for the local school district as an assistant graphic designer. I sell my beadwork and 2-dimensional work at several local galleries and craft fairs. I am so greatful for such a large support for the beading community.
