Buying Tips

The information below will step you through the basic preparations for PRINTING items from our site. We suggest you use our Free items as a testing ground before purchasing.

Prices listed reflect that you (not Sova-Enterprises.com) will print your order.
We do offer various ordering options, additional charges may apply see the options price for details.

PATTERNS may or may not include extras like; instructions - technique - finishing tips or hints etc... assume they are not included with a pattern unless noted in the description. We do offer as many extra's as possible. Many are FREE (if you print yourself) on this site. Read the descriptions carefully or email with questions before purchasing.

What is needed to order and print items from Sova-Enterprises:

Read our Agreement.
A Color Printer is a must. Check your supply of ink and paper before ordering.
A browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) that supports 128 bit encryption.
Cookies must also be enabled for our scripts to keep track of your order.

PC users: Internet Explorer 6 or newer or Netscape Navigator 7 or newer.
MAC users: Internet Explorer 5.0 or newer or Netscape Navigator's newest version.
(128 bit encryption is used to protect sensitive information, please see our Security Information for more details).

Acrobat Reader Newest Version. Older or mixed versions will not work properly with all of our files. We suggest that you read and use the information below to resolve the most common problems associated with printing items from our site.

If you are not sure which version of Acrobat Reader is on your computer or if a newer version was installed over an older version, follow the steps below to remove all versions, install the newest version and make the web browser integration setting change.

1. Uninstall ALL versions of Acrobat Reader.
If available use the UNINSTALL associated with Acrobat Reader.
If there is no UNINSTALL associated with Acrobat Reader;
WARNING: once a program has been unstalled it is GONE.
Go to your START MENU, find the CONTROL PANEL, choose ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS.
Find and REMOVE all versions of Acrobat Reader.
2. Shut down your computer.
3. Count to 10 slowly.
4. Turn computer on.
5. Download Acrobat Reader's newest version found at the link below.
Vist the Adobe site to get the newest Version of Acrobat Reader.
6. We recommend you DO NOT uncheck the web browser integration setting in Acrobat Reader Version 7.

If needed, uncheck the web browser integration setting in Acrobat Reader Version 6, this can solve all sorts of problems; Computer/Printer FREEZING, Partial printing of Pages and more.
To uncheck the web browser integration setting in Acrobat Reader 6.0:
a. Open Acrobat Reader 6.0.
b. In the Menu choose EDIT - PREFERENCES.
c. On the left side of the screen, highlight INTERNET.
d. On the right part of the screen, uncheck DISPLAY PDF in Browser.
e. Just below "DISPLAY PDF in Browser", uncheck "Check Browser settings when starting Acrobat Reader".
f. If you receive a message about being out of memory it could be that if you uncheck the "Certified Plug-ins only" option will take care of that problem.

How to find out which version of Acrobat Reader is installed on your computer:
1. Open Acrobat Reader,
2. In the Menu of Acrobat Reader, click HELP,
3. Scroll down and click on ABOUT Acrobat Reader.
4. The screen that follows will have the version listed.
This does not prove that you do not have mixed version installed.

Printing Tips:
You may want to keep the patterns you print for a long time. We suggest you get a good quality paper or cardstock or photo paper to print these patterns on. You may also want to set your printer to print in its BEST mode as opposed to Normal or Economy. This will get you the BEST prints possible.

Storage Suggestion:
Slip your printed patterns into Clear Plastic Sleeves to protect them for years to come. The plastic sleeves also allow you to use erasable markers over the patterns. It makes life so much easier to keep track of where you are while answering the phone - etc....just erase the marker or replace the plastic sleeve and you can reuse the pattern over and over. The plastic sleeves usually come pre punched with 3 holes to fit 3 ring binders - a good storage place for your new Patterns. You can even get dividers and organize the binders - oh, maybe we are getting to organized now......
