GENERAL:
  1. Are all instructions included with each pattern?
    We have PATTERNS that may or may not include extras like;  instructions - technique -  finishing tips or hints etc... please assume they are not included with a pattern unless noted in the description.  We do offer as many extra's as possible. Many are FREE on this site.  Read the descriptions carefully or email with questions before purchasing.
  2. How can I tell which items have been recently listed?
    When you visit us, click on NEW PRODUCTS. Shown first the 20 of the newest items add to our site. If you would like to SEARCH by date or other criteria please try our ADVANCED SEARCH.
  3. Who is Sova-Enterprises?
    Sova-Enterprises is owned and operated by Dave & Rita Sova. You can find more details by clicking About Us
  4. Can I save the PDF files instead of Printing?
    No, as per our Agreement Page
    The patterns you purchase are just like patterns from a brick and mortar store. You receive 1 printed pattern for the price and it is Copyrighted by the Author. You have permission to make items from these patterns for personal use and for "pin money" unless otherwise noted on the pattern. No mass production is authorized. The contents of Sova-Enterprises.com (images, files, patterns, instructions, etc.) are not public property and may not be bought, sold, traded or taken from this site.
  5. Why can't I print extra copies of the FREE items to share?
    COPYRIGHT Protection. Designing, as much as we enjoy it, is our livelihood. When our items are passed around freely it makes it very difficult for us to pay our bills. Would you like others giving away your belongings without permission?
    Items that are FREE today may or may not be FREE tomorrow.
  6. May I print and use patterns/instructions to teach others?
    If you get written permission from the original creator/designer, you may. Without permission you may be in COPYRIGHT Violation.

  1. Why can't I order?
    We have upgraded our site to included 128 bit encryption. Please check your browser to see if this higher encryption is supported. Many times you can get an upgrade to your current browser FREE. We do not recommend the NEWEST versions of Netscape as they have some quirks of their own.
  2. Which Browser and versions are suggested?
    Internet Explorer 6.0 or Newer,
    MAC users we recommend Internet Explorer 5.0 or Newer,
    Netscape Navigator 4.77 or Newer.
  3. Why are Cookies used on this site?
    Our Cookie is used to store your Invoice Number, which is used to keep track of your shopping cart (order).
  4. Is my personal information SAFE when using this site?
    YES, we use 128 bit encryption. From our research it only takes "hours" to break the 40 bit encryption and is nearly impossible to break the 128 bit encryption.

ACROBAT READER - VIEWING & PRINTING PATTERNS:
  1. Why use Acrobat Reader?
    This is the best way we could find to print high quality graphics pages.  Yes, they take a while to load, but you do get a high quality printed page.
  2. Which version of Acrobat Reader do I need?
    You need the newest version of Acrobat Reader. Older version may not work properly with all of our files.
  3. How do I get Acrobat Reader?
    1. Click here to Get Acrobat Reader FREE from the Adobe site.
    2. Follow the instructions to Download and INSTALL the newest version Acrobat Reader, but FIRST be sure any older versions of Acrobat Reader have been UnInstalled from your computer, multiple versions of the same program can cause a program to be unstable.
    * CLICK Download - KNOW WHERE YOU SAVE THE FILE YOU DOWNLOAD.
    * After you have downloaded the program you must INSTALL before the program will work.
    * Find the Acrobat Reader file you just downloaded and click the INSTALL icon.
    3. You should be done - now go to our site and order a FREE pattern.
  4. How can I tell which version of Acrobat Reader I have?
    1. Open Acrobat Reader,
    2. In the Acrobat Menu, click HELP,
    3. Scroll down and click on ABOUT Acrobat Reader,
    4. The screen that follows will have the version listed that you are using.
  5. What should I do with the older version of Acrobat Reader that is already installed?
    We recommend that you uninstall (not delete) all versions older than 6.0 before installing the new version. Various versions can lead to an older version opening when you click on our links. If the older version opens problems can occur.
  6. How do I uninstall Acrobat Reader?
    We recommend that you uninstall all older versions before installing the new version. Various versions can lead to an older version opening when you click on our links. If the older version opens problems can occur.
    1. Go to your START - PROGRAM menu on your Computer Desktop.
    2. Scroll through your program files to find any Adobe Acrobat Reader files.
    3. There should be an uninstall associated with each one.
    4. Click Uninstall.
    5. Repeat for each version of Acrobat Reader on your computer.
    6. Shut Down your computer.
    7. Count to 10 very slowly.
    8. Turn your computer on.
  7. What if I have multiple versions of Acrobat Reader installed on my computer?
    We recommend that you uninstall (not deleted) all versions older than 6.0 before installing the new version. Various versions can lead to an older version opening when you click on our links. If the older version opens problems can occur.
  8. Are there settings in Acrobat Reader to make Printing/Viewing easier?
    We recommend that you change NO settings in Acrobat Reader 7.0.
    For versions previous to 6.0; we recommended that you uncheck the web browser integration setting in Acrobat Reader, this did solve all sorts of problems; Computer/Printer FREEZING, Partial printing of Pages and more.

    If needed - To uncheck the web browser integration setting in Acrobat Reader 6.0:
    a. Open Acrobat Reader 6.0.
    b. In the Menu choose EDIT - PREFERENCES.
    c. On the left side of the screen, highlight INTERNET.
    d. On the right part of the screen, uncheck DISPLAY PDF in Browser.
    e. Just below "DISPLAY PDF in Browser", uncheck "Check Browser settings when starting Acrobat Reader".
    f. If you receive a message about being out of memory it could be that if you uncheck the "Certified Plug-ins only" option will take care of that problem.

  9. My computer and/or printer are FREEZING, what should I do?
    A. We recommend trying this helpful information submitted by one of our wonderful customers:
    Though my pattern did show in the adobe screen, it was only the first page that showed, even though the document said it was done loading. What I did was to go to the bottom of the adobe screen and click on the individual pages where it says 1 of 3. I clicked on the arrow to advance to page 2. When that was done loading I clicked on the arrow to advance to page 3. When that was fully loaded I then clicked on the print icon in Adobe and, voi'la, it printed!
    B. After you have the correct version of Acrobat Reader installed and you are ready to PRINT.
    1. Some of our files are very large and you must wait and wait. Sometimes it is not our files fault at all, your Internet connection may be slow or other various reasons that the pattern does not show up right away. Please be patient before giving up.

    2. You must wait for an entire pattern to come into view (load into Acrobat Reader) before clicking the PRINT button in the Acrobat Reader menu (not your Browsers menu). If you click PRINT before the entire pattern has loaded then the pattern will not PRINT correctly. Scroll through the pages and wait for each one to come into view and continue scrolling until all pages are loaded into Acrobat Reader.
  10. What should I do when all I get is a WHITE BLANK PAGE?
    A. Sometimes a blank white page will sit staring at you, try waiting, sometimes the data seems to take a scenic route before showing up on the screen. To save frustration, time, paper & ink, DO NOT click PRINT until you can see information on all pages.
  11. What should I do if I get a message regarding "OUT OF MEMORY"?
    A. Try unchecking the "CERTIFIED PLUG-INS ONLY" option in Acrobat Reader.
  12. Why does only 1 page of a multiple page pattern print?
    A. Please uncheck your web browser integration setting, it will help with many problems you may be encountering.   For FREEZING or LOCKING up Computers and or printers, among other things, this setting change has been a miracle cure. more info
  13. I'm using a MAC - do you have HELP?
    A. This is from one of our wonderful MAC customers, Thank you so much!
    If you know you have Acrobat Reader installed and working this could be the answer you're looking for:
    Open Internet Explorer, Edit menu, Preferences; scroll down (left side menu) to "Receiving Files"; then "File Helpers"; scroll down (right side menu) under Applications to Acrobat; click on Acrobat Application and it will open "Edit File Helper" screen. The last item "Handling" should be set to "view with application".
Note. Try turning your computer off, count to 10 slowly, then start your computer. Sometimes your computer's memory gets full, shutting it down could be the answer you are looking for.
